Ed LaForce

Edward LaForce was born in Albany, Indiana, about 1870. In 1895, he began working for the Louisville baseball club. In 1901, the Louisville and Pittsburgh teams were merged and LaForce moved to Pittsburgh to begin work for the Pirates. He is the first black athletic trainer found in Major League Baseball.
LaForce was said to have gained extensive knowledge on anatomy
